Bye Bye Summer

Purple jarul blooms
light up a cloudy morning.
Small joys wash off gloom.
- me

Lady spring swooshes
around in her magic broom,
colouring every gloom.
- Nuzhat

Black clouds show up at
last, parched mouths open in hope.
But promises break.
- me

Nature never makes
promises, we just assume,
face consequences.
- Max

Summer most often
oppresses like a throng of
creditors babbling.
- Max

Bodies sweat, sigh, sweat
as clouds mask, unmask the sun.
Joy and gloom play tag.
- me

Before the heavy
gloom and dry heat, there's an
indolent heady high.
- Max

Global warming creeps
on, heads warming inside will
annihilate us.
- Max

The gulmohar, its
pods shed, falls into silence.
Spring shall come again.
- me

Gulmohar spreads a
patchy carpet under red
canopy. Spring leaves.
- Max

Monsoon clouds above,
still air below, night swelters.
Absent winds bring gloom.
- me

Wind abstains like a
self-possessed lover, will
bundles of joy arrive?
- Max

The forest wears a hushed silence.
Summer waits for the sound
of that first drop of rain.
- Alaka

Queens of the night, white
jasmine flowers bring brightness.
Mud gives birth to stars.
- me

Mud produces the
lotus that shields egoes,
genocidal tyrants.
- Max

I am a blessed
wanderer. The earth is
my home.
- Alaka

Wind playing with
window curtains as if youthful
spirits hide and seek.
- Max

Ugly or pretty,
summer blooms nevertheless.
Nature's no poet.
- me

Wind-tickled tree sways,
lurches, gestures at the hills
wearing a blue haze.
- Max

Morning dew and
fresh sunbeams,
cascade of sleepy
flowers on the
good earth, sights
I can drink in sitting
right next to my
hearth.
- Lakshmi
